Gregg in G-Vegas

This past weekend, Jeremy and I got to go to Greenville to visit our dear friend John and his awesome girlfriend Angela. You see, Monday is John's birthday and we just had to see him! We had not visited since the wedding and that is just way too long. We went out to dinner, watched movies, went shopping, and hung out. It was so much fun!

Aren't they cute?

So this year for John's birthday, he decided to have a cookie contest (with prizes)! I was just too happy to oblige. Jeremy and I wracked our brains trying to figure out what to make into a cookie that just SCREAMED John. Cupcakes? Transformers? Then I had the light-bulb moment - Gregg the Face Eating Caterpillar! It was too perfect. Let me explain; when we were in college John and Jeremy saw the biggest caterpillar ever and John promptly said that "it was going to eat his face off". That then gave him an idea for a children's book called "Gregg the Face Eating Caterpillar" and it would be very similar to the hungry hungry caterpillar book. See, Gregg would go around as an angry, grumpy caterpillar and eat people's faces off. Then when he becomes a butterfly all the faces would be on his wings and when he flew around he would give everyone a face back. Cute right? I'm still waiting for my copy (hint hint John). So without further ado, here is our rendition of Gregg the Face Eating Caterpillar forever immortalized in handmade cookie.

Roar! I'm gonna eat your face!

Yay! Now I'm a beautiful happy butterfly with happy faces to give back!

John with his awesome cookies.

So the cookie contest does not end until tomorrow night, so hopefully John will announce the winner tomorrow or Tuesday. Wish us luck!

I think it's no contest: perfect, personal idea and delicious (I know your cooking well!) to boot.

No surprise that you won the contest! They look DELICIOUS! But I am going to have to veto the idea for the kid's book. Unless it is a horror story. I can't imagine the illustrations for that... Yecchh.
